Cocoon

This sculptural dress explores the transformation of the mundane into the magnificent, finding inherent value in the discarded. Crafted from repurposed plastic newspaper sleeves, each bag was hand formed with wire into hundreds of delicate blossoms. These flowers were then sewn together to create the garment's structure and embellished with sequins for added depth.

The headdress draws inspiration from the legendary Maria Callas and her iconic portrayal of the title role in the opera “Turandot."
